3 continents 5 countries cruise starts at the Piraeus (Athens) port. Embarkation starts at 15:00. Our cruise ship will leave the port of Piraeus at 21:00 for 8 full days of fun and experiences. We go along the west end of Attica passing close to the Temple of Poseidon in Cape Sounion. This evening is a good opportunity to get around and know your ship and the services we provide.
A full day onboard the elegant Celestyal Discovery to enjoy the crystal blue waters of the Aegean Sea and the eastern Mediterranean Sea. A good opportunity to customize the ship and the services we provide, and to taste the excellent food. To relax in our lounges and to entertain with our night program.
Early in the morning, we arrive at the port of Port Said in Egypt.
We will disembark for our optional full-day tour of the Pyramids and Cairo. We cross the desert to Cairo to admire the only remaining intact Wonder of the Ancient World, the Pyramids of Giza. Continue down the valley to gaze at the guardian of this mortuary complex, the mighty Sphinx. After lunch, visit the National Archaeological Museum and acquaint yourself with the treasures of ancient Egypt, spanning a period of over 50 centuries, before re-joining the ship in Port Said.
We will spend the whole day in Israel and have the opportunity to visit the Holyland. Participating in an optional tour from the port of Ashdod will take you to the holy city of Jerusalem where you will visit the Mount of Olives, the Church of Gethsemane and in the old city, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Wailing Wall. The tour also includes a visit to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Christ.
Another port, another country, another civilization. Most of the day we will spend in Limassol, one of the most beautiful cities in Cyprus. Limassol was built between two ancient Greek cities, Amathus and Kourion, and during Byzantine rule, it was known as Neapolis (new town). Limassol’s historical centre is located around its medieval Limassol Castle and the Old Port. Today the city spreads along the Mediterranean coast and has extended much farther than the castle and port, with its suburbs stretching along the coast to Amathus.
You may stroll around the city or participate in the optional tour to Curium and the wine village of Omodos. Curium was an important city-kingdom founded by the Greeks in the 14th century BC. Discover the beautifully preserved Greco-Roman theatre, with spectacular views over the sea and the House of Efstolios, with intricate mosaic floors from the 5th century AD.
Next, it’s into the hills to the wine-growing village of Omodos to visit the Monastery of the Holy Cross in the village square, see a medieval wine press and enjoy a tasting at a local winery in Limassol
Today we visit the magnificent island of the roses, Knights and Butterflies. Rhodes was famous worldwide for the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The medieval Old Town of the City of Rhodes has been declared a World Heritage Site. Today, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.
The optional tour will take you to visit the old medieval city and the famous Acropolis of Lindos and the Citadel of the Knights. Our tour begins with the Acropolis of Lindos, 55 km (40 miles) from the city of Rhodes, to see the graceful Temple of Athena, built-in 300 B.C. Back in the old city of Rhodes, you will walk through D’Amboise Gate and along the perfectly preserved Street of the Knights to discover the medieval residence of each order of the Knights of St John, still bearing the original crests.
Kusadası is a resort town on Turkey’s Aegean coast. In ancient times settlers include the Aeolians in the 11th century BC and Ionians in the 9th century who made Kusadasi a centre of art and culture. In the early years of Christianity. St John the Evangelist and (according to Roman Catholic sacred tradition) Mary (mother of Jesus) both came to live in the area.
The included tour will take you to the ancient Ephesus through the Ages – Hellenistic/Roman.
Visit the archaeological site of ancient Ephesus, one of the largest open-air museums in the world. See incredible relics of the Hellenistic, Roman and early Christian eras. Discover the Agora, the Odeon, the Library of Celsus and the beautifully preserved marble-paved main Street of Kouretes.
