Day 2: OLYMPIA – DELPHI

Delphi_Greece_Archaeological_Site  In the morning visit the Sanctuary of the Olympian Zeus and the museum and then drive through the plains of Eliad and Achaia, through Patras to Rion, cross the channel to Antirion on the ‘state of the art’ new suspended bridge considered to be the longest and most modern in Europe. Day 6: THESSALONIKI

Day 7: THESSALONIKI – ATHENS

Start the return drive to Athens. Pass the valley of Tempi with extraordinary beauty of   Euzones-Unkown-Soldier-monument-Athens-Greecethe entire scenery. Admire the combination of the high rocks with the small river and the very old palm trees. Continue passing by Larissa and Lamia and arrive at Thermopylae famous for the ancient battle.   THURSDAY: OLYMPIA – DELPHI: Olympia was a sanctuary of ancient Greece,  Delphi_Greece_Tholos_Athina_Proneaknown for having been the site of the Olympic Games in classical times, the most famous games in history.
The sanctuary, known as the Altis, consists of an unordered arrangement of various buildings. Enclosed within the temenos  are the Temple of Hera (or Heraion/Heraeum) and Temple of Zeus, the Pelopion and the area of the altar, where the sacrifices were made. The hippodrome and later stadium were also to the east.
To the north of the sanctuary can be found the Prytaneion and the Philippeion, as well as the array of treasuries representing the various city states.

Built by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century AD this church is one of the marvels of world architecture. Its massive dome dominates the skyline of old Istanbul. It is famed for its mosaics, including glittering portraits of emperors and empresses (closed on Mondays).
Next we visit the Blue Mosque, which owes its name to the exquisite tiles adorning its interior. Dating from the 17th century, it is the only imperial Mosque with six minarets. The Hippodrome, the stadium of ancient Byzantium, held 100.000 spectators and featured objects from all corners of the empire.
The Grand Bazaar was the commercial heart of the old city and its 4.000 shops are full of treasures – including carpets and kilims, silks, jewellery, ceramics, icons and leather goods (Closed on Sundays).
Lunch in a local restaurant and continuation of our tour. Our afternoon will begin at Topkapi Palace which, from the 15th to 19th century, was the principle residence of the Ottoman Sultans (closed on Tuesdays).

DAY 3: ISTANBUL – BOSPORUS: Half day cruise through Bosporus, the majestic strait that runs through Istanbul, linking Europe and Asia. From our cruise boat, we view the dramatic siIstanbul_Turkey_Bosporus_Housesghts lining the Bosporus wooded shores: mosques, a bridge that for a time was the world’s longest and Rumeli Hisari, a massive fortress built by Mehmet the Conqueror in just three months as he prepared to take Istanbul. Also noteworthy on this tour are the 19th century mansions of the Ottoman elite and the Sultans’ fanciful gingerbread palaces and hunting lodges Disembarkation at the European part of Turkey and transfer to your hotel.


Istanbul_Turkey_Bosporus_Houses_02   DAY 4: ISTANBUL – TWO CONTINENTS:   Early departure for the intercontinental bridge of Bosporus, to continue to the Camlica hill at the Asiatic part of Turkey which affords panoramic views of Istanbul, Marmara Sea, Princes’ Islands and magnificent Istanbul. Then visit the Beylerbeyi Palace on the shore of the Bosphorus, one of the most elegant of the late Ottoman palaces and boasts six sumptuously furnished reception halls. and a typical fish village along the coast of Bosporus with time at leisure for shopping.


DAY 5: ISTANBUL-AIRPORT: According to your departure flight, you will be transferred to the airport.

Istanbul Cappadocia vacation package covering the most important sites of Istanbul, visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the Mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk in Ankara and the famous Cappadocia area.

DAY 1: ISTANBUL: Arrival in Istanbul, welcome & assistance at the airport and transfer to hotel. Free day.


DAY 2: ISTANBUL: After breakfast full day visit to Istanbul. We begin our tour from the Istanbul_Turkey_Topkapi_PalaceSultanahmet district, the heart of old Istanbul at Agia Sophia. Built by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century AD this church is one of the marvels of world architecture. Its massive dome dominates the skyline of old Istanbul. It is famed for its mosaics, including glittering portraits of emperors and empresses (closed on Mondays).
Next we visit the Blue Mosque, which owes its name to the exquisite tiles adorning its interior. Dating from the 17th century, it is the only imperial Mosque with six minarets. The Hippodrome, the stadium of ancient Byzantium, held 100.000 spectators and featured objects from all corners of the empire.
The Grand Bazaar was the commercial heart of the old city and its 4.000 shops are full of treasures – including carpets and kilims, silks, jewellery, ceramics, icons and leather goods (Closed on Sundays).
Lunch in a local restaurant and continuation of our tour. Our afternoon will begin at Topkapi Palace which, from the 15th to 19th century, was the principle residence of the Ottoman Sultans (closed on Tuesdays).
Little Agia Sophia Mosque is known as one of the oldest standing churches in Istanbul dating back to 6th century. It is early domed-basilica architectural plan of famous Agia Sophia which was applied here first time in the history.


Cappadocia_Turkey_General_View  DAY 3: ISTANBUL – ANKARA – CAPPADOCIA: In the morning, transfer to airport for flight to Ankara. Arrival in Ankara & then to the city to visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the Mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk. Lunch and continue to Cappadocia. Dinner and overnight.


DAY 4: CAPPADOCIA:Visit the spectacular Cappadocia region, unique for its fascinating Cappadocia_Turkey_Hot_Air_Ballonand unique landscape formed by the lava thrown out by volcanoes Erciyes and Hasan, 3 million years ago. Visit the many monasteries and chapels in Goreme, World Heritage Site by UNESCO, dug into the rocks and decorated with frescoes of the tenth century (some of them very well preserved). Pass by and admire a panoramic view of the castle of Uchisar on top of a mound of volcanic rock crossed by tunnels and windows and Avcilar Valley. Lunch and in the afternoon, visit the village of Avanos, famous for its handicrafts and valleys and G?vercinlik Valley (Pigeon Valley). Visit the underground city of Kaymakli or Serhatli, one of 36 underground cities of Cappadocia served as a refuge for Christians. Return to hotel and dinner.


Istanbul-Turkey-Dolma-Bahce-Palace-MuseumDAY 5: CAPPADOCIA – KAYSERI – ISTANBUL: After breakfast departure to Kayseri airport for return flight to Istanbul. Arrival & transfer to hotel.


DAY 6: ISTANBUL – AIRPORT: At the appointed time will be transferred to Istanbul airport to board the return flight.

Bursa_Turkey_Silk_Bazaar SABADO: ESTAMBUL – TROYA – CANAKKALE: Por la mañana salida hacia Bursa, la primera capital del Imperio Otomano. Visita de la Mezquita Grande, el Mausoleo y la Mezquita Verde. Almuerzo y tiempo libre en el bazar de Seda. Continuación hacia Canakkale, cena y alojamiento.


Pergamum_Temple_of_Trajan DOMINGO: CANAKKALE – PERGAMO – KUSADASI: Visita a Troya, la famosa y  antigua ciudad de los 9 niveles. La fama de la ciudad procede de R20;IliadaR21; de Homero y la Guerra de Troya con el caballo de Troya. Almuerzo y continuación a Pergamo, ciudad rival de Alejandría en el dominio de las artes y letras. Visita de la Acrópolis en la que junto a las ruinas del Templo de Atenea y de la Biblioteca, se destacan el Gran Teatro con una inclinación impresionante y el Templo de Trajano. Continuación hacia Kusadasi, cena y alojamiento.


Ephesus_Turkey_Augustus_Gate LUNES: KUSADASI – EFESO: Salida hacia Efeso, la ciudad antigua mejor conservada de Asia menor que durante los siglos I y II tuvo una población de 250.000 habitantes. Esta ciudad monopolizo la riqueza del Oriente Medio. Durante esta excursión se visitara el Templo de Adriano, los Baños Romanos, la Biblioteca, el Odeón, el Teatro de Efeso asé como también la Casa de la Virgen Maria y la columna del famoso Artemisio, una de las Siete Maravillas del Mundo Antiguo. Por la tarde regreso a Kusadasi y alojamiento.


MARTES: KUSADASI – PATMOS: Después del desayuno traslado al puerto para Patmos_Island_Greece_The_Castleembarcar en el crucero de 4 días/3 noches por las islas Griegas y Turquía. Por la tarde llegada a la isla de Patmos, donde participando en una de las excursiones opcionales, tendrá la oportunidad de visitar el Monasterio y la Gruta de San Juan, lugar donde el Apóstol vivió y escribió el libro de la Revelación.


Rhodes_Greece_Lindos_Castle MIERCOLES: RODAS: Un día entero en la hermosa isla de las rosas. En lo mas alto de la población de Lindos se alza la Acrópolis Antigua. Cerca de la Acrópolis, la bahía de San Pablo. Los caballeros de San Juan abandonaron la isla, dejando atrás la ciudad medieval amurallada. Las huellas de la ocupación de los Turcos se ven en los minaretes, las mezquitas & los baños Turcos. No pierda la oportunidad de conocer esta isla, participando en una de las excursiones opcionales.


JUEVES: HERAKLION – SANTORINI: Por la mañana llegada a la capital de Creta, Heraklion_Crete_Island_The_CathedralHeraklio. Tendrá la oportunidad de conocer lo mas importante de esta isla, tomando la excursión opcional al Palacio de Knossos, el centro de la civilización Minoica. En seguida el crucero llega a la mágica isla de Santorini, creída por muchos como el Continente Perdido de la Atlántida.


Karyatides_Acropolis_Athens_Greece VIERNES: PIREO – ATENAS: Llegada temprano por la mañana al puerto de Pireo. Después del desayuno, desembarque y traslado al centro de Atenas. Por la mañana, visita panorámica del centro Neoclásico Ateniense: Parlamento, Universidad, Biblioteca y Academia Nacional, Palacio Ilion, Templo de Zeus, Puerta de Adriano, Estadio Panatenáico y otros muchos míticos monumentos. Finalizada la panorámica, visita a la espectacular Acrópolis. Tarde libre en la ciudad.


SABADO: ATENAS: Día libre en la ciudad para actividades personales, paseos e compras. Academy_of_Athens_GreeceLa excursión de día completo a Argólida considerase una excelente opción para aprovechar de este día libre.


DOMINGO: ATENAS – AEROPUERTO: A la hora indicada dependiendo de su vuelo de regreso, traslado al aeropuerto.
